Non-OECD Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia

In 2019, the total energy supply (TES) in non-OECD Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia decreased by 0.4%, breaking an upward trend which started in 2016. Russia’s TES, accounting for two thirds of the regional total, remained stable in 2019 after growing significantly over the last two years. While the TES of the Caucasus (+8%) and the Mediterranean (+2%) grew substantially, the decrease in Central Asia (-1%) and Eastern Europe (-3%) had a far greater impact overall as these sub-regions account for 29% of the region’s TES.
