Toward a Clean, Clever and Competitive Energy Future 2007

At the Gleneagles Summit in July 2005, the G8 heads of state asked the IEA to identify measures to map out the path to a “clean, clever and competitive energy future.” This request came in recognition of the Agency’s strengths and offered the opportunity to draw on its existing expertise and programmes. We responded with a broad array of initiatives to develop strategies to mitigate climate change, secure clean energy and achieve sustainable development.
