Energy-related CO2 emissions are set to double by 2050 unless decisive action is taken. IEA analysis demonstrates, however, that it is possible – in the same timeframe to 2050 – to reduce projected greenhouse gas emissions to half 2005 levels, but this will require an energy technology revolution, involving the aggressive deployment of a portfolio of low-carbon energy technologies.
