Science and Technology National Policy

The Science and Technology National Policy puts forth an integrated framework intent on making Saudi Arabia one of the world leading energy researchers as well as serving as a reference for future system development and performance enhancements in the long-term.This policy is composed of principles which define Saudi Arabia's directions, general goals, and objectives in the Energy field. The policy is also compliant with the general directions and objectives of the national development plans and the different sectoral policies and plans. In order to meet its goals, the Plan defines 11 programs for localization and development of strategic technologies that are essential for future development. The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) was given responsibility for developing 5-year strategic and implementation plans for each of these 11 technology programs.
