Regulation of the General Climate Change Law (Mexico) Regarding the National Registry of Emissions
The Law mandates reporting for all greenhouse gases, including methane. The energy sector, among others, is required to measure direct and indirect emissions from mobile and fixed sources and report them annually. The Law applies to sources whose emissions sum over 25000 tCO2e annually. Starting in 2017, emissions registry data must be verified by a recognized third party every three years.
