Morocco - General Building Regulations
The General Building Regulations sets the energy performance regulations for buildings as approved by Decree No. 2-13-874 to improve the thermal insulation of buildings to reduce energy consumption.
The decree includes the following approaches:
- A performance-based approach: Specifications are expressed in terms of minimum requirements for annual specific heating and cooling requirements, relative to reference indoor temperatures.
- A prescriptive approach: the technical specifications are expressed, for each type of building and in each climatic zone, in the form of maximum thermal transmittance coefficients.
