Last updated: 12 May 2021
The regulation establishes the thermal efficiency, gas savings and safety requirements of solar water heaters and solar water heaters backed by LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) or natural gas that are intended to be introduced into the Mexican market. Technical specifications, testing methods, and labeling are also considered by the regulation. Technical conditions for solar water heaters: Useful heat per day - 8 hours (Mega Joules) : > 12.5Useful heat per day - 24 hours (Mega Joules) : > 8.7Useful heat per year - 8 hours (Mega Joules) : > 4550Useful heat per year - 24 hours (Mega Joules) : > 3170 LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) savings per month in kg: > 16.5 for 17 Mega Joules/m2 of radiation > 17 for 19 Mega Joules/m2 of radiation > 17.5 for 21 Mega Joules/m2 of radiation > 18 for 23 Mega Joules/m2 of radiation > 18.5 for 25 Mega Joules/m2 of radiation
