NOM-017-ENER/SCFI-2008: Energy efficiency and safety requirements for CFLs. Limits and testing methods

Last updated: 12 May 2021
This standard sets the minimum efficiency limits in lumen per watt that all self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps must meet, maximum leakage current, maximum temperatures and ratio of the temperature of the ballast envelope versus time. See the attachements for the minimum levels of energy efficiency. The standard NOM-017-ENER/SCFI-2008 supersedes the standard NOM-017-ENER-1997. The 2008 version has more stringent requirements in terms of luminous efficacy (in lumen per watt) and adds values for maximum leakage current, maximum temperatures and ratio of the temperature of the ballast envelope versus time.
