One of several Austrian klima:aktiv programmes within the Austrian Climate Strategy is the national programme for increasing energy efficiency in companies, which started in 2005 under the management of the Austrian Energy Agency. The klima:aktiv management cooperates with market-partners for specific technologies, e.g. compressed air, variable speed drives, pumps, fans, lighting systems, steam systems and waste heat to answer the need of companies for very detailed and professional support. Information on these advanced technologies isspread via newsletters and trainings. The program also includes energy audits guides abd sector specific information on benchmarking. Until November 2017, more than 650 consultants have been trained in using tools for energy audits and about300 companies have been awarded by the Minister of Environment for implementing energy efficiency measures.
