Hydro One PowerShift Peaksaver PLUS
After 10 successful years, the peaksaver PLUS® program ended on December 31, 2017. More than 315,000 participating homes and businesses across the province, have played an important part in protecting the environment while keeping Ontario’s electricity reliable.
When you first signed up, a thermostat or electronic switch was installed to temporarily reduce the electricity used by your air conditioner, electric water heater or pool pump, on the hottest summer days when electricity demand was highest. With significant changes in smart thermostat technology and the evolution in demand response programs, peaksaver PLUS® ended on December 31, 2017.
