Procedure for Energy certification of buildings (Royal Decree 235/2013)

RD 235/2013 recasts and superseeds Royal Decree 47/2007, (which transpose Directive 2002/91/CE). It expands the requirements related to the energy performance of buildings from new to existing buildings in Spain, stating an obligation of delivering an energy performance certificate for them, and includes those novelties from Directive 2010/31/UE in the Spanish legislation, taking into account the experience from the last 5 years of application of RD 47/2007 on energy performance of new buildings. The minimum requirementes of energy performance are defined in the Technical Building Code.
