Law Regulating the Electricity Market (LREM)

The purpose of this law is to implement European Union Directives 96/92/EC and 2003/54/EC. It includes the following rules on the promotion of electricity from renewable sources:

1. Renewable energy plant operators are contractually entitled against the grid operator to the priority connection of plants to the grid without discrimination.
2. Plant operators are contractually entitled to priority access and transmission of electricity from renewable sources.
3. After the conclusion of a connection agreement, a plant operator is contractually entitled against the grid operator to the expansion of the grid if the expansion is necessary to connect a plant to the grid.
