Decree on generation and consumption of electricity from renewable sources and cogeneration in Republic of Srpska

The Decree defines and establishes: objectives and measures promoting renewable energies and cogeneration methods, funding system necessary for ensuring fulfillment of the Decree’s goals, targets for share of energy derived from renewable energy sources in gross final consumption of energy in the Republic of Srpska, classification system of power plants operating on (fully or partially) renewable energy sources.

Goals of the Decree: to increase security of electricity supply, prevent climate change, conserve natural environment, deploy successfully renewable technologies, promote cogeneration, ensure stable increase of renewable energies’ share in Republic’s energy mix, contribute to sustainable development, boost local self-employment, social cohesion, reduce emigration ratio and many more. Hence, Decree’s goals are economic and social in character.
