Clean Energy Initiative
The Australian Government's AUD 5.1 billion Clean Energy Initiative (CEI) is designed to support clean energy generation and new technologies to reduce carbon emissions and stimulate the clean energy sector. The initiative includes four components: - Support for low emissions coal technologies including the Carbon Capture and Storage Flagships Program and the National Low Emissions Coal Initiative; - Support for solar technologies including the Solar Flagships Program and the Australian Solar Institute; - The Australian Centre for Renewable Energy, which supports technology development and commercialisation; and - Further support for renewable energy and energy efficiency through the Renewable Energy Future Fund. Please see separate entries for further details.
