Risk Coverage Fund

The risk coverage fund is dedicated to low enthalpy geothermal plants (with heat distribution networks). It was designed in the early 1980s to cover the risks associated with the long-term exploitation of geothermal sources. The risk coverage scheme was extended in 2000 for 10 years until 2012. There are ongoing discussions to extend this scheme to high temperature geothermal plants (cogeneration of heat and electricity).
