Presidential Instruction on Water and Energy Savings (10/2005; 2/2008; 13/2011)

Presidential Instruction No. 10/2005 called on Ministers, Governors, Mayors and other government officials to use energy efficiently. It also included a report of the energy consumption of each institution.
Presidential Instruction No. 2/2008 Concerning Energy and Water Saving instructed all the Government Institutions to promote and implement energy and water efficiency efforts. This regulation also initiates the establishment of the National Committee for energy and water efficiency.
The current Presidential Instruction No. 13/2011 Concerning Energy and Water Saving instructs leaders of government institutions both in the central and local governments to save water and energy within their institutional domain. This Presidential Instruction sets an electricity reduction target of 20%, a fuel reduction target of 10%, and a water-use reduction target of 10%.
