Special Act on National Strategic Technology Development
The Special Act on National Strategic Technology Development commits the government to formulating a five-year master plan for fostering and protecting national strategic technologies. This plan includes annual detailed implementation plans for each strategic technology field. Strategic technologies are identified and managed through consultations with relevant administrative agencies and deliberations by the designated Science and Technology Advisory Council. The development of these technologies will be supported by designated agencies and research institutions, the creation of regional technology innovation hubs to foster a research ecosystem, linking industries, and operating specialized educational institutions.
