To foster research and innovation in alternative energy generation, increase international exchange in the R&D sector, train human resources in the area, and promote national technological training, a dedicated electricity-related part of the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT) is funded by 0.3% to 0.4% of the net revenue of electric utilities active in thermal and hydro generation or electricity transmission and distribution.
