Last updated: 25 June 2024

The regulation aims at setting rules, standards and controls for air pollutants from power generation installations.

Standards for thermal power plants built before the application of the regulation are as follow:

  • Coal: SO2 to 550 mg/nm3 // NOx to 550 mg/nm3 // PM to 100  mg/nm3 // Hg to 0.03 mg/nm3.
  • Diesel: SO2 to 650 mg/nm3 // NOx to 450 mg/nm3 // PM to 75  mg/nm3.
  • Gas: SO2 to 50 mg/nm3 // NOx to 320 mg/nm3 // PM to 30  mg/nm3.

Standards for thermal power plants built after the application of the regulation are as follow:

  • Coal: SO2 to 200 mg/nm3 // NOx to 200 mg/nm3 // PM to 50  mg/nm3 // Hg to 0.03 mg/nm3.
  • Diesel: SO2 to 200 mg/nm3 // NOx to 250 mg/nm3 // PM to  30 mg/nm3.
  • Gas: SO2 to 25 mg/nm3 // NOx to 100 mg/nm3 // PM to 10 mg/nm3.
