Ordinance No 75/2015 on Ethanol Blending Mandate

The government of Brazil mandates a minimum share of ethanol in gasoline. The obligation applies to vehicle manufacturers and fuel producers of Brazil. The objective is to reduce emissions levels generated by the transport sector.
The blend percentage can be changed by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Interministerial Council for Sugar and Alcohol (CIMA), but cannot be less than 20% and no more than 27%.

The blending mandate changed over time: 1993 - 22% // 2007 - 25% // 2011 - 20% // 2013 - 25%. 
The Ordinance No 75/2015 updated the bioethanol target in 2015 to 27%.
