Common European Project for the implementation on the creation of a European hydrogen value chain (Italian arm)

Last updated: 4 July 2024

The IPECI H2 Technology refers to the creation of a European clean hydrogen value chain authorising state aid towards the clean hydrogen production in fifteen EU countries, among which Italy. The authorisation foresees aid to:
- The production of hydrogen through the development of new generation technologies
- The production of fuel cells
- The creation of new storage, transport, and distribution infrastructure
- The development of new appliances for end users, in particular rail and naval transport.

Italy has devoted EUR 455 million to six enterprises and two research institutions. This amount is the result of a recent expansion of the budget promulgated on May 8, 2024.
