Turkiye- Energy Supply Security 2023

As per the 2023 Energy Supply Security Program, The following activities is carried out:

  •  Periodic Reviews and Inspections 
    • Periodic audits for the distribution companies are carried out to control the energy market.
  •  Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP)
    • The project is a connection of natural gas pipeline between Turkiye and Europe. As of 2023, 22.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been purchased, and 25.2 billion cubic meters were shipped to Europe until end of June 2023.
  • Nuclear Power Plants
    • As part of the  "Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Establishment and Operation of a Nuclear Power Plant at the Akkuyu Field in the Republic of Turkiye" signed on 2010, 4 nuclear reactors with total capacity of 4800 MW are being planned to be implemented. 3 construction permits have been granted for three reactors until now.
