Combined Energy Storage System Adoption Program

The Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, in coordination with the Korea Energy Agency, administers an annual government grant program for businesses and residential customers. For businesses, grants are available only to small- and medium enterprises.

The program has been administered since 2016 and has differing amounts of annual budgets as set at the beginning of each year. Projects must be completed within 140 days of budget disbursement. The program funds are provided for up to 70% of total system costs depending on the specific use and capacity of the energy storage system. Total budget for the 2023 program, the latest program administered, was KRW 3.94 billion.
