Thailand - Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA)

The Thailand - Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA) provides for border tariff elimination for most energy products, including: iron, metals, ammonia, steel, aluminium, battery packs and cells, anodes, heat pumps, automobiles.

Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement state that products may benefit from preferential tariff treatment if wholly obtained or produced in one of the signatory countries, having undergone there production processes entailing sufficient change in tariff classification or containing materials sourced elsewhere which value does exceed 40 -45% of their price.
