Viet Nam-Cuba Free Trade Agreement

The Viet Nam-Cuba Free Trade Agreement entered into force in April 2020. It provides for the gradual elimination of import tariffs over five years, notably for :

  • Ores
  • Mineral fuels
  • Mineral oils
  • Coal
  • Iron and steel
  • Nickel
  • Aluminium products.


To qualify for preferential tariff treatment, products should be: 

  •  wholly obtained or produced in one of the signatory countries, or entirely from materials originating from them.
  • incorporating non-originating materials which value does not exceed 10% of the FOB value of the final products.
