Jordan - Canada FTA

The Canada-Jordan Free Trade Agreement (FTA) entered into force in 2012. It provides for import tariff elimination for a number of products, including:

  • Nickel oxides and hydroxides 
  • Aluminum ores and concentrates 
  • Waste and scrap of tinned iron or steel 
  • Heat Pumps
  • Lithium oxide and hydroxide 
  • Nickel oxides and hydroxides 
  • Lithium carbonates 
  • Motor cars and other motor vehicles
  • Photosensitive semiconductor devices, including photovoltaic cells whether or not assembled in modules or made up into panels; light emitting diodes 


To qualify as originating from one of the signatory country, and thus for import tariff elimination, the share of externally source material in a manufactured product should not exceed 65% of its price.
