Introduction of the Significant Investments Review Bill

Singapore announced the introduction of the Significant Investments Review Bill which aims to set out a new investment screening regime for Singaporean and non-Singaporean investors in entities considered critical to Singapore's national security interests. The bill came into force on 28 March 2024. 

As part of the bill, restrictions on specifically designated entities, rather than generally applied criteria are imposed. Under which, buyers, sellers and designated entities are responsible for notifying or seeking approval for specified changes in ownership and control of designated entities.
