Last updated: 5 June 2024

The Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade (Department of Commerce) implemented the Common Digital Platform for Certificate of Origin, to facilitate ease of trade for exporters and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) utilization. The secure, electronic platform for issuing certificates of origin smooths out the process for gaining preferential tariff treatment of goods, including energy-products and their constituents covered by most FTAs. This procedure applies to most FTAs India is party to including but not limited to:

  • South Asia Free Trade Agreement;
  • India Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement;
  • ASEAN India Free Trade Agreement;
  • India Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement;
  • India Thailand Free Trade Agreement;
  • India Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement;
