Free Trade Agreement - Panama and Mexico

Panama and Mexico Free Trade Agreement (FTA) entered into force on 21 April 2015.  It provides for the reduction or elimination of import tariffs for most industrial and energy sector products, including: 
- Agglomerated and reduced iron
- Alumina
- Scrap metal
- Ammonia 
- Crude steel 
- Aluminium 
- Nitrogen fertilisers
- Solar PV Modules, Solar Cells, and Solar Wafers
- Polysilicon
- Battery packs and battery cells
- Electrolysers 
- Heat pumps 
- Electric cars and ICE cars 


Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement state that goods may benefit from preferential tariff treatment if wholly obtained, produced or having undergone a significant production process in one of the signatory countries, complying with regional content requirements.
