Automobile Average Greenhouse Gas and Fuel Efficiency Management System

The automobile average greenhouse gas and fuel efficiency management system, set in 2012, tightens the greenhouse gas and fuel efficiency standards every year. 

The 2023 standard is 24.4 km/L (fuel economy) or 95 g/km (GHG emissions) for cars up to 10 passengers, gradually strengthening to 33.1 km/L (fuel economy) or 70 g/km (GHG) in 2030. For vans and small trucks with 11 to 15 seats, the 2023 standard is 15.4 km/L (fuel economy) or 164 g/km (GHG emissions) and gradually increasing to 17.6 km/L (fuel economy) or 143 g/km (GHG emissions).
