Renewable Fuel Standard

The Renewable Fuel Standard mandates fuel suppliers to blend diesel with biofuels at a certain ratio. 
It notably set a minimum blending mandate of 2.5% up to 2017 // 3.0% up to 2021 // 3.5% up to 2023 // 4.0% up to 2026 // 4.5% up to 2029 // 5.0% from 2030 onwards.
