In the spring of 2004, the Government presented a proposal for a limited time subsidy for certain investments focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy in public buildings. The support takes the form of a tax credit corresponding to 30% of the total cost of approved projects, rising to 70% to support the cost of installation of solar cells. The scheme will be in force from 1 January 2005 until 30 June 2006 except for the support for solar cells, which will continue until 31 December 2007. The total volume of the support is estimated at 2 000 million SEK. The support for solar cells accounts for 100 million SEK out of this total.
