United States-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement

The United States-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement is a free trade agreement providing for the elimination of import tariffs and non-tariff barriers between the signatories for the following goods:

  • Electric generation equipment 
  • Mechanical equipment including pumps, appliances, and other advanced machinery
  • Electric motors, transformers, capacitors, and batteries
  • Motor vehicles
  • Mineral ore and processed products including graphite, manganese, copper, aluminium, and nickel
  • Various products manufactured using above minerals and metals such as sheets, powders, bars, and plates
  • Photovoltaic cells (for import to Peru only). 

Goods are considered as originating from each country if wholly produced or obtained on the territory of one of the parties, or having undergone there a significant production process, or meeting product-specific regional content requirements.
