Renewable Energy Industry Export Support Plan

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) announced the Renewable Energy Industry Export Support Plan aimed at supporting domestic renewable energy manufacturers' access to foreign markets. 

Specific measures include:

• Global Green Credit program to provide export credit insurance for renewable electricity project developers (KRW 200 billion)

Other measures with no specific funding announced include:

• Strategic alignment with Green ODA projects;
• Developing domestic solar PV supply chains and reduce reliance on China for key materials;
• Build domestic wind energy supply chain by supporting R&D collaboration with leading international manufacturers;
• Create a "Renewable Overseas Development Working Group" with relevant public agencies and public generation companies to support foreign projects.
