Climate Act - Denmark's coal phase-out

Last updated: 2 May 2024

Denmark is set to ban coal-based electricity production by 2028, closing the Nordjyllandsværket power station by this date.
This phase-out goes along with the repeated commitment of reducing by 70% GHG emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels set in the Climate Act in 2020.
