Green transition investment projects

The Ministry of Environment created in 2022 a grant programme for municipalities aiming at developing green transition investment projects, in the context of Finland's Net-Zero target. 
The grants are available for renewable development, low carbon hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, electrification and recycling. 

The initial scheme already granted: 

• EUR 435,400 in 2022 through the EU recovery plan to 5 municipalities;
• EUR 1.5 million in February 2023 to 18 municipalities.

The government extended this scheme in March 2023 with additional EUR 2.6 million.
