Energy for the countryside programme

The Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development launches a new programme from January 2023 to December 2023 to provide subsidies to farmers and energy cooperatives in rural communes for financing biogas plants, hydropower plants, photovoltaic installations, wind turbines and energy storage facilities integrated with these plants. 
Subsidy is provided in the form of direct grants or loans with total programme allocation of PLN 1 billion. Photovoltaic installations and wind turbines can be covered entirely by the subsidy in a maximum amount of PLN 25 million. Biogas and hydropower plants can be financed up to 65% in the maximum amount of PLN 20 million.
