Indian Railways Energy Efficiency Plan

The Indian Ministry of Railways announced a five-point Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Indian Railways. The action points are: energy efficiency in equipment and appliances, sustainable buildings, power quality and restoration, data management and monitoring website, and capacity building. A key part of the plan is installing rooftop solar panels on all railway establishments, which can increase renewable energy usage in non-traction operations.
