Revised national budget 2021-2022: Energy price support

The Revised national budget 2021-2022 budgets several additional measures that were announced from December 2021-May 2022. These include:

  • Temporary benefit to households for electricity grid tariffs. In March 2022, extension of the temporary electricity subsidy scheme for households from April 2022-March 2023.
  • Housing allowance to help cover high electricity costs in the period January-March 2022 (NOK 1,500 per household), and increased framework subsidy to the municipalities. In February 2022, this was increased from NOK 1,500 to NOK 2,500 per household over March 2022-December 2022.
  • Extension of the temporary electricity support scheme for agriculture and greenhouses from April 2022-March 2023.
  • Extension of the temporary electricity support scheme for the voluntary sector in December 2021-March 2022. In August 2022, increased to NOK 480 million and extended until March 2023 to cover 80 per cent of average electricity prices over 70 øre per kWh.
