Council of ministers’ decree No. 341 for 2012, to approve the organization of the General Authority for the Environment
The decree defines the internal organization of the general authority for the environment. This authority is governed by an executive committee, which is responsible to develop programs and policies related to the environment.
The environmental impact assessment office, within the authority, evaluates environmental impact assessments submitted by companies for different sectors, including the oil and gas sector. It also provides consultancy for these studies, follows the implementation of environmental regulation, and performs research and field studies.
