Cooperation agreement with the Flemish Region
This policy provides for local entities (provinces and municipalities) to set up a voluntary agreement with the Flemish Government to help establish environmental policies and measures. These policies and measures can relate to matters such as waste, water, mobility, noise and energy. In this agreement, local entities commit themselves to promoting energy efficiency, buying renewable energy etc. in return for financial support from the Flemish Government for projects at provincial or municipal level.
These projects might include low energy public buildings, renewable energy (PV), heat pumps and micro-CHP. For energy efficient buildings up to 50% of the additional costs is subsidized. The cooperation agreement ended on the 31st of December 2013.
