EUR 8 million for small houses' energy efficiency

The Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications allocated EUR 8 million in 2022 to support the energy efficiency of small houses, with special emphasis on the installation of solar panels with roof and facade insulation. A EUR 5 million euro solar panel subsidy will also open for apartment associations. The reconstruction support for small houses application process start at the end of March 2022, and is intended for houses built before 2000.

The rate of support for the complete reconstruction of the building is 30% and up to EUR 20 000 euros in Tallinn and the city of Tartu, 40% and up to EUR 30 000 in the municipalities bordering Tallinn and Tartu, and 50% and up to EUR 40 000 in other areas. The support for the partial renovation of the building is 20% and up to EUR 20 000 euros nationwide, and for the installation of solar panels and the renovation of the roof or facade 30% and up to EUR 20 000 euros.

An application round for support for the installation of solar panels in apartment buildings is to be open in April 2022. In order to receive support, in addition to the installation of solar panels, the roof or facade under the panels must be repaired to increase energy savings.
