Infrastructure and Jobs act: Low carbon power
Provisions from the Infrastructure and Jobs Act pertaining to low carbon power encompass incentives for hydroelectric power (budget of USD 763 million) and building low carbon power in communities where coal power plants have closed (budget of USD 750 million).
In May 2024, the US government allocated USD 71 million in grants (of which USD 16 million from the amounts enacted in the framework of the the Infrastructure and Jobs Act) to R&D and demonstration projects intended to develop domestic solar energy technology manufacturing capacities solar energy supply chain.
