Last updated: 5 April 2022

As part of the French Resilience and Recovery plan, EUR 6.7 billion were earmarked for measures specifically dedicated to energy upgrades, in an effort to reduce emissions and improve the energy efficiency in buildings. These measures include:

- MaPrimeRénov' programme for private households (2021-2022), to improve buildings, in particular energy upgrades as well as creating jobs in building renovations.

- Upgrading public sector buildings, responsible for 25% of residential emissions in France. Part of the funding will be delegated to regions.

- Energy efficiency upgrades for social housing (notably heating system improvements).

- Energy renovation of SMEs, to improve thermal insulation and energy efficiency.
