The South African Economic Reconstruction and recovery plan outlines the country's response to the Covid-19 crisis.

The plan sets out three phases: (i) a direct response to the health crisis to save lives; (ii) reforms and other interventions to restore the country's economic well-being while monitoring the health risk; and (iii) building a resilient, inclusive and sustainable economy.

Energy security and energy industries are priority components of the plan: specific interventions for this sector are mentioned, such as completing the regulation of bioenergy, connection of additional 128 MW of IPP capacity, or nuclear and gas to power programmes.
