Victoria’s Climate Change Strategy is a roadmap to net-zero emissions and a climate resilient Victoria by 2050.Under the Victorian Climate Change Act (2017), every five years the State Government of Victoria is required to publish a new strategy setting its interim targets for achieving the state's legislated long-term target of net zero emissions by 2050 and outlining how it will meet these targets.This strategy includes the following interim targets, related to the energy sector:Overall emissions reduction target: reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions from 2005 levels by 28–33% by 2025 and 45–50% by 2030.50% renewables by 203050% of the light vehicle sales will be zero emissions vehicles by 2030100% of new public transport buses to be zero emission from 2025All Victorian Government operations to be powered by renewable electricity by 2025.This strategy was slated to be published in 2020 but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
