Budget 2021 (spring) - Support to public transport

SEK 2 billion have been proposed in the budget to enforce public transport in 2021.

In the spring amendment budget in April 2021, the government will allocate an additional SEK 1 billion in 2021 to invest in green transport. The budget will go to:       

- Increase freight transport by rail   

- Improve public transport to maintain the capacity during the pandemic 

- Introduction of a national ticket system for all public transport (SEK 30 million)

 

The support will help provide a high volume in public transport to avoid spread of infection under the pandemic.
