World Energy Investment Roundtable 2018

Background

The Investment Roundtable was held on 9th March 2018 in Paris.  Attendance was by invitation only. 

The IEA’s report World Energy Investment (WEI) measures the state of investment in the energy system across technologies, sectors and regions. This high-level roundtable aimed to convene a select group (40-50) of energy finance and industry experts to provide crucial insights for the production of WEI 2018 as well as to inform broader IEA work on the interaction of investment, technology and policies.

The World Energy Investment Roundtable was structured around three sessions:

1. The ongoing transformation of the oil and gas industry
2. Changing business models and the financing of electricity sector investments
3. Investing in the future: new technologies and business models
