IEA-IIP Policy Pathway on Energy Management Programmes Workshop

Background

The International Energy Agency and the Institute for Industrial Productivity organised a workshop on Energy Management Programmes on 30 September in Paris. The workshop is part of the preparatory process for the development of a Policy Pathway on how governments can promote energy management in industry. IEA has partnered with the Institute for Industrial Productivity that aims to co-operate with the world’s top experts and share the most successful ideas on industrial energy efficiency.

Based on experience, published research, expert workshops and best-practice country case studies, the IEA Policy Pathways Series provides details on how to implement specific recommendations drawn from the IEA's 25 Energy Efficiency Policy Recommendations. The publications are designated for policy makers at all levels of government and other relevant stakeholders seeking practical ways to develop, support, and monitor energy efficiency policies.

As emphasised during the Energy Management Action Network (EMAK) workshops in 2010, there is a need to build up knowledge and exchange experiences on approaches and policies that promote energy management in industry.

The objective of the workshop is to discuss key issues that need to be considered when planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating energy management programmes for industry. The workshop will be attended by representatives from public authorities, industry, and experts.
