The International Energy Agency (IEA) is pleased to announce the 14th Energy Efficiency Policy Training Week, which will take place in person in Paris, France from 17-21 April 2023.
The Energy Efficiency Policy Training Week aims to build capacity among policy makers from emerging economies, equipping them with greater knowledge and skills to develop and implement effective energy efficiency initiatives in their respective countries.
Since 2015, IEA has held week-long training events dedicated to sharing experience with planning, implementing and evaluating energy efficiency policies in emerging economies. These training weeks have brought together more than 2 000 energy efficiency professionals from over 120 countries, primarily from government institutions and supporting organisations in emerging economies.
The E4 Training week consists of 5 parallel courses on energy efficiency in:
- Appliances and equipment
- Smart cities
- Indicators and evaluation
Each course offers a combination of lectures, interactive discussions and practical exercises that allow participants to learn from international best practice and from each other.
The programme also includes joint sessions on assessing the potential for energy efficiency, tracking progress, and communication campaigns as well as exploring the social and economic benefits of energy efficiency measures.
Activities during the training week will be designed to provide hands-on experience to participants as well as opportunities to exchange with colleagues from around the world.
The training is aimed at energy efficiency policymakers, principally from energy ministries and supporting institutions, but applications would be accepted from those in relevant sectors of industry or knowledge-based institutions.
Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
